How to purchase the restaurant POS system

With the robust and reliable restaurant POS system, food businesses can reduce waiting time for their customers, get fast and secure payments, and track better their online or in-store checks.

The POS system comprises the service subscription, the hardware starter kit, and built-in Oracle Payments service both for in-store and online orders. The POS system is managed through the restaurant administration panel along with their online ordering experience and services.

  • Have you started to set up your account? Take a few minutes to go through the main settings in the Setup section, then spend some time to insert at least part of your menu. There is a Preview option in the Menu setup section that will give you a quick view into the workstation layout and operations. Note that menu changes are not possible during the purchase process, but you can resume it later.
  • Ask your questions, describe your business scenarios, and see if the restaurant POS service is right for your business. Explore the other articles to learn more about the POS operations.
  • Feel free to review the equipment included in the POS subscription, included in the starter kit or available for purchase. The list of equipment and specifications are also directly available as part of the purchase flow. Equipment can also be ordered at a later time, as the business grows.
  • When you’re ready, return to the POS section to initiate the purchase. The system will guide you through in-product messages and emails to select the desired hardware, insert your business details and pass the payments verification flow (KYC). Once the POS and payments settings are completely provisioned you will receive the hardware order tracking URL to follow the shipment to your address.

Step-by-step restaurant POS purchase flow

  1. To start the purchase, go to your restaurant admin panel -> Setup -> Point of Sale section and click Yes, then Next:

2. Once in the hardware store, you can revise the hardware starter kit components and review their specifications:

3. Tap Next to progress to the next screen where you can add more workstations and payment devices. Keep going to view more hardware options such as kitchen printers, cash drawers or customer displays:

4. After all the hardware components are selected, an order summary will be displayed. You can revise the order, agree with the Terms and Conditions and proceed with the purchase.

Note: the system will calculate the freight cost based on the hardware delivery address requested in a later step.

Note: These images are illustrative of the purchasing flow only as the prices and currencies are variable depending on the country.

5. The next step will ask for the delivery address and the contact person who will receive the hardware.

6. Then you will have to provide the Billing Settings. It is recommended that you should fill these in with real, accurate information about your business. During the purchase some validations will need to be performed to make sure the information inserted is correct and complete.

7. After these data are validated and the delivery address is confirmed, the system will calculate the freight owned for hardware delivery. Click Next if you want to proceed and order:

When your purchase order is placed, a new section will appear in the administration panel, in the top right dropdown, under Hardware Orders. You will also receive an email with a tracking link to follow the shipment.
