Migrate Stripe to support the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) rule

The Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) rule, part of PSD2 regulation in Europe, includes some changes regarding how restaurants’ European food clients authenticate online payments. In order to meet SCA requirements, card payments require 3D Secure. Transactions that do not follow the new authentication guidelines may be declined by food clients’ banks.

The online ordering system supports 3D secure payment through Stripe. Please check first if Stripe is available in the restaurant's country here.

Then, perform the migration bygoing to "Payments -> Card & other payment methods" and select "Re-enter credentials" in the tooltip:

Please note: Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL (the Netherlands only) & Bancontact (Belgium only) fully support Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) - including exemption logic - and ensure that the restaurant only asks food clients to provide additional authentication when strictly necessary.
